Susan Lynn Mimura

Susan Lynn Mimura Susan Lynn Mimura is the Managing Member of the firm which she started in April 2010. Susan grew up in Culver City, California, and graduated from Culver City High School with academic honors as one of the State's Sealbearers. She was recruited to attend the College of Idaho, later transferring to Boise State University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Social Science and an English minor. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho's College of Law in December 1982, at the age of 24.

Susan started her legal career working for the capital city of Boise in April 1983. She was initially hired and trained as a criminal prosecutor, later expanding her skills into civil areas such as employment law, labor negotiations, civil rights, tort claims, contracts, and municipal law. In 1995, she was appointed by Mayor H. Brent Coles and the City Council to serve as the City Attorney. In that position, Susan managed, coached, and mentored over 40 employees who provided the Mayor, City Council, city departments, and the public with outstanding legal services.

While working for 20 years at the City of Boise, she networked with local, state, and federal government agencies. She served as a founding board member of the Ada County Abuse Prevention Program and the BSU Bronco Athletic Association, and belonged to professional associations such as the Idaho Municipal Attorneys Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police Legal Advisors, and the International Municipal Lawyers Association. Her duties included serving as the Boise Police Attorney from 1988-1993, representing Management in grievances and arbitrations, and serving on the Mayor's Budget Team, Labor Negotiations Team, and the City Council's Public Safety Team. She represented the City of Boise and the Association of Idaho Cities on state legislative matters; taught courses on the Idaho Public Records Act, process improvement, recruitment of women and minorities into law enforcement; and was a guest speaker on topics of civil rights and racial profiling, employment law, and land use planning. In 2000, she was honored to represent the United States Conference of Mayors in Tokyo, Japan for the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations. Throughout her tenure with Boise, she gained administrative skills and expertise, completing a program developed in 2000 for city managers through the Center of Management Development at Boise State University.

In 2004, Susan, her brother Mark Mimura, and Ron Coulter founded a small general practice firm which became Mimura Law Offices. The firm represented individuals and businesses. Susan's clients included a Fortune 500 corporation in civil litigation, professional employee associations, contractors, the commercial trucking industry, and individuals. Approximately 70% of her clients are from personal referrals.

In April 2010, she withdrew from Mimura Law Offices in order to start her own firm, a practice which has been steadily growing since its inception.

Her broad legal experience includes criminal law, family law, employment contracts, general business, real estate, land use planning, wills, and personal injury.

Susan feels that Idaho provides an unsurpassed quality of life for people wanting a clean, wholesome environment in which to raise a family and enjoy the outdoors. She has exchanged her love of the beach, the Dodgers, and tennis, for skiing, horseback riding, golf, and the Mariners. Susan is a proud mother of grown daughters, Dani and Micki. She and her husband Bob Wright, along with a corgi named Pearl, live in Meridian, Idaho.
